Family Fun Ideas: Picnic in the Backyard
If you’re looking for a fun simple way to have fun with your little ones here is one idea for you! How about a picnic in your own backyard?
We spent an entire afternoon with a few blankets on the grass and talking about a million things with our close friends.
Many of you might not know that we immigrated to Canada years ago without our families. It hasn’t been easy because both my husband and I love our families very much and the distance sometimes can be very difficult. I guess that now we have a little one things are even more difficult. We would love to have the grandparents to see their grandchild as much as possible and would also love to have them close so we can see our bundle of joy grow with her “Nena and Nenei” (translation: Grandma and Grandpa) around.
Having friends around can definitely ease the pain of not having family close by and to be entirely honest the real friends also become your own unique family. They become so important and so part of your lives that you can’t stay an entire week without seeing them.
This is what my friends are to me and I feel so blessed when I think that we can spend an entire day just chatting, sitting on a blanket and watch the kiddos have fun in a contained area. The beauty of being in your backyard is that you don’t have to worry about the million things moms worry about if they have to leave the house: Strangers, packing everything for the LO, what if I forget this or that, what if the munchkins decide that they don’t like the food we packed in the bag, and the list goes on and on…. It’s motherhood what do you expect?!? LOL We always worry, but at least if you’re in the comfort of your own home you worry a bit less.
I was actually able to enjoy the day so much and discover that my baby girl was so grossed out by the feel of grass under her feet…LOL It was so fun to watch (I know a bit cruel but fun nonetheless)
